WhatsApp via Tidio

Connect your Tidio WhatsApp integration to your Boei inbox. This is ideal if you already use Tidio for customer support and want to manage WhatsApp conversations in Boei as well.

How to get there: Go to Settings in the top menu → select your website → Inbox Channels tab.

Prerequisites

  • A Tidio account with WhatsApp connected
  • A verified Meta Business Account
  • A WhatsApp Business phone number

Step 1: Connect WhatsApp to Tidio

If you haven't connected WhatsApp to Tidio yet, do that first:

  1. Log into your Tidio Panel
  2. Go to Settings → WhatsApp
  3. Click Integrate WhatsApp
  4. A Facebook login window will appear — sign in with the account linked to your Meta Business Manager
  5. Select or create your Meta Business Account
  6. Select or create your WhatsApp Business Account
  7. Enter the phone number you want to use and verify it with the code sent to your phone
  8. Complete the connection

Requirements:

  • Your Meta Business Account must be verified (done through Facebook Business Manager)
  • Remove the phone number from any personal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app before connecting — a number can only be linked to one platform at a time
  • Each WhatsApp Business Account supports up to 2 phone numbers by default (up to 5 with a verified Meta Business Account)

Step 2: Get Your Tidio API Credentials

  1. In Tidio Panel, go to Settings → Developer → OpenAPI
  2. Generate your API credentials (only project owners and admins can do this)
  3. You'll receive:
    • Client ID (starts with ci_)
    • Client Secret (starts with cs_)
  4. Copy both values — you'll need them in Boei

Step 3: Connect Tidio to Boei

  1. In Boei, go to Settings → select your website → Inbox Channels tab
  2. Click Connect Provider Account
  3. Select Tidio as the provider
  4. Enter a name (e.g., "Main Tidio")
  5. Paste your Client ID in the "Client ID" field
  6. Paste your Client Secret in the "Client Secret" field
  7. Enter the Webhook Secret (found in Tidio under Settings → Developer → Webhooks)
  8. Click Connect

Step 4: Add a WhatsApp Channel

  1. Click Add WhatsApp Channel
  2. Enter a name (e.g., "Support WhatsApp")
  3. Enter the WhatsApp phone number you connected in Tidio
  4. Select the Tidio provider account you just connected
  5. Optionally select an AI Chatbot to auto-reply to incoming messages
  6. If you use Tidio's channel routing, enter the External Channel ID (custom_channel_id from Tidio)
  7. Click Create

Step 5: Configure the Webhook in Tidio

After creating the channel, Boei shows a webhook URL. Configure Tidio to send events to this URL:

  1. Copy the webhook URL from Boei
  2. In Tidio Panel, go to Settings → Developer → Webhooks
  3. Click to add a new webhook
  4. Paste the Boei webhook URL as the endpoint
  5. Select the relevant event types (incoming messages)
  6. Save

Note: Tidio webhooks require the Plus plan. If you're on a lower plan, you can use Tidio's Zapier integration as an alternative for one-way data flow.

You're All Set

Incoming WhatsApp messages routed through Tidio will now appear in your Boei inbox. You can:

  • Reply directly from the inbox
  • Assign conversations to team members
  • Let your AI chatbot handle first responses automatically
  • View all conversations alongside your other channels
