Right to Be Forgotten

When a customer asks to be deleted under GDPR Article 17 ("right to erasure"), you can do it yourself in one click. No support ticket required.

How to get there: Go to Contacts in the top menu → find the contact → open the 360 view → Delete contact.

What gets deleted

When you erase a contact, the following is removed permanently and cannot be recovered:

  • The contact record itself (name, email, phone, custom fields)
  • All conversations and messages the contact was part of
  • All deals attached to the contact (tags stay, but become detached)
  • All metadata (AI analytics, scores, notes, read receipts)
  • All visitor sessions linked to this email

What remains

  • Aggregated counts in analytics (e.g. "we had 1,200 conversations") do not change
  • Activity logs may retain timestamps of the deletion event itself
  • Billing and invoicing records related to YOUR account stay intact

Bulk erasure

Need to delete many contacts at once? Use the REST API to script bulk deletions, or contact support@boei.help for a one-off cleanup.

Audit trail

The deletion event itself is logged in your account's activity log (which contact was deleted, when, by which team member). The personal data is gone, but the fact that a deletion happened is preserved so you can prove the request was honored.
