Customizing Pipeline Stages

Configure your deal stages to match your sales process.

How to get there: Go to Deals in the top menu → click the settings icon to customize stages.

Default Stages

Boei starts with default stages:

  1. New
  2. Contacted
  3. Qualified
  4. Proposal
  5. Won
  6. Lost

You can customize these to fit your workflow.

Adding a Stage

  1. Look for the Add Stage option on the deals page
  2. Enter the stage name
  3. The new stage appears as a column

Renaming Stages

  1. Click on the stage name in the column header
  2. Edit the text
  3. Press Enter or click away to save

Reordering Stages

Drag stages to change their order:

  1. Click and hold the stage column header
  2. Drag left or right
  3. Release to set new position

Deals move through stages in the order you set.

Changing Stage Colors

Each stage can have its own color:

  1. Click the color indicator next to the stage name
  2. Choose a new color from the picker
  3. Color is applied immediately

Use colors to visually distinguish stages (e.g., red for Lost, green for Won).

Deleting Stages

  1. Click the delete option on the stage
  2. Confirm deletion
  3. Deals in that stage move to the first available stage

Warning: Make sure to move important deals before deleting a stage.

Stage Statistics

Each stage column shows:

  • Deal count - Number of deals in that stage
  • Total value - Sum of all deal values in the stage

Best Practices

Keep It Simple

  • 5-7 stages is usually enough
  • Too many stages can slow down your process

Use Clear Names

  • "Qualified" is better than "Stage 3"
  • Names should describe the deal's status

Match Your Process

Common stage patterns:

Sales Pipeline:

  • Lead → Qualified → Proposal → Negotiation → Won/Lost

Service Business:

  • Inquiry → Quote Sent → Accepted → In Progress → Completed

Consulting:

  • Discovery → Proposal → Contract → Active → Closed
