Team Members

Share access to your widgets with team members who will manage them together with you.

How to get there: Go to Setup → Team in the top menu.

Overview

The Team Members feature is great when multiple people work together on the same widgets and channels.

A new team member starts with no permissions. As the account owner, you decide what each person can do by toggling on the capabilities they need (manage chatbots, view the inbox, be a live chat agent, and so on). See Permissions and Roles for the full list of permissions and how to edit them.

If you need to create separate workspaces (for example, one per client), see Subaccounts instead.

Adding Team Members

  1. Click Setup in the top menu
  2. Click on Team in the Setup submenu
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Enter the person's email address

Adding team member

Boei will either use the person's existing account or create a new one. They'll receive an email notification automatically.

What Team Members Can Access

By default, a new team member has access to nothing. After you've invited them, open their row on the Team page and turn on the permissions they need:

  • Manage Sites & Widgets
  • Manage Chatbots
  • Manage FAQs
  • View Inbox
  • Manage Contacts & Deals
  • View Analytics
  • Be a Live Chat Agent (uses a live chat seat)
  • Manage Billing

Each permission is independent so you can mix and match. See Permissions and Roles for details on what each toggle unlocks.

Agency accounts

If you run an agency with subaccounts, any permissions you grant a team member on the agency account automatically extend to every subaccount underneath. You don't need to invite them into each client separately.

Revoking Access

  1. Go to Team members
  2. Find the person you want to remove
  3. Click the delete button and confirm

Revoking access

The person will no longer have access to your widgets. Their account remains active for their own widgets.

Best Practices

  • Add team members who need full collaboration access
  • Use subaccounts for clients or separate teams
  • Review team members regularly and remove inactive users
