AI Chatbot Channel

Add your chatbot to the widget so visitors can ask it questions.

How to get there: Go to Setup → Website widget in the top menu → click your widget → click Add Channel and select AI Chatbot.

Setup

  1. Open your widget editor
  2. Click Add Channel
  3. Select AI Chatbot
  4. Pick which chatbot you want to use
  5. Save

The chatbot now appears in your widget next to your other channels.

Opening question

Leave this empty and the channel works as you would expect: a visitor clicks it and the chatbot opens, ready for their question.

Fill it in and the chatbot opens with that question already asked, so the answer is on screen straight away.

That lets you add the same chatbot to your widget more than once, each time with its own name and its own question. For example:

  • Schedule a demo → opening question: I would like to schedule a demo
  • Where is my order → opening question: Where is my order?
  • What does it cost → opening question: What are your prices?

All three use the same chatbot and the same training. Only the question differs.

Why this helps

Visitors pick a channel based on what they want, not on what it is. "Schedule a demo" gets clicked more often than "Chat", because it says what happens next.

You also get to see which question people came for. Each channel counts its own clicks, so your widget statistics tell you what visitors actually wanted before they typed a single word.

Good to know

  • Keep the question short, the way a visitor would type it. It has to fit in a chat message, so at most 1,250 characters.
  • Give each channel a clear name and its own icon, so visitors can tell them apart.
  • If a visitor already has a conversation going, clicking one of these channels reopens that conversation instead of starting over. The opening question is skipped so their chat is not interrupted.
  • Every opening question is answered by your chatbot, so it uses AI credits the same way a normal question does.
